Cabarrus County begins construction, renovation

During the next few months, several Cabarrus County Government sites will undergo planned renovations. Major projects currently in process or scheduled include renovations to the Cabarrus Arena and Events Center, Frank Liske Park, and the Cabarrus County Courthouse and Courthouse Annex.
A breakdown of these projects is as follows:
Cabarrus County Arena and Events Center
Mechanical upgrades
Location: 4751 NC-49, Concord
Dates: April 1-August 1
Traffic implications: None
Cost: $986,700
The County, which owns the Cabarrus Arena, will replace its air handlers and chillers. Scheduled events are not in affected areas.
Frank Liske Park
Tennis courts
Location: 4001 Stough Road, Concord
Dates: May 11-July 11
Traffic implications: None
Cost: $48,600
The tennis courts at Frank Liske Park will undergo routine maintenance, including sealing cracks, resurfacing skim coat and painting. The County will close the courts and the adjacent parking lot for the duration of the renovation.
Cabarrus County Courthouse and Courthouse Annex
DA and probation offices
Location: 77 Union Street South, Concord
Dates: May 11-July 15
Traffic implications: None
Cost: $162,100, with an additional $70,300 for furniture, card readers and data cabling
The project will expand the District Attorney’s office and create 11 new offices in the probation section of the Courthouse and Courthouse Annex.
