Fun at the Concord Library

Superheroes Gliders Preschool Story Time takes place on Thursday, June 11 @ 10am in the Children’s Program Room at the Concord Library. It’s a bird! It’s a plane! It’s a Superhero-Shaped Glider!  Celebrate superheroes/sidekicks with books and activities and make your very own Superhero-Shaped Glider.  For more information, call the Children’s Room @ 704.920.2058.

1.       The Children’s, Teen and Adult Summer Reading Programs begin on Monday, June 15 at the Concord Library. The Children’s theme is Every Hero Has a Story; the Teen theme is Unmask! & the Adult theme is Escape the Ordinary. Please call the library @ 704.920.2050 for more information.

2.       Unmask!: Myths Busted will take place on Monday, June 15 @ 4pm in the Meeting Room of the Concord Library. Unleash your inner Mythbuster as we tackle burning questions like, “Could a penny dropped from the Empire State Building really kill someone down below?” Join us for hands on experiments and freaky facts, then work individually to find out if a speaker can be made from everyday recyclables. 3.       Escape the Ordinary: Yoga on Tuesday, June 16 @ 6:30pm in the Auditorium of the Concord Library. Joanna Dudley will present an introductory yoga session; mats will be provided. 4.       Enjoy the live musical talent of Big Bang Boom on Wednesday, June 17 @ 3pm in the Auditorium of the Concord Library. They are a rockin’ trio of dads dedicated to creating music that both kids and parents will love! For more information, call the Children’s Room @ 704.920.2058.

5.       Would you like to know what’s available in the Local History/Lore Room? Join us on Wednesday, June 17 @ 6pm for an informative session on the Local History room resources such as books, vertical files, microfilm, etc. that will assist individuals in their genealogical endeavors. 6.       Every Hero Has a Story: Spectacular Sidekicks for ages 5-12 takes place on Thursday, June 18 @ 3pm in the Children’s Program Room of the Concord Library. Celebrate sidekicks, the often-overlooked heroes, with books and activities. Participants will think about sidekicks in new ways and experience themselves as part of a superhero/sidekick duo.
